Mike Trout, an outfielder with the Los Angeles Angels, was the 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and MVP runner-up. Trout, 21, is a 2009 Millville High School graduate who was a two-time Press Player of the Year and The Press Male Athlete of the Year for the 2008-09 school year.

Tuesday: Trout was 4-for-4 with a double, an RBI, three runs scored and two walks in a 14-11 loss to Texas in 10 innings. He has reached base safely in 10 straight plate appearances, dating back to Monday night, when he reached all five times.

Today: The Angels play at the Rangers at 8:05 p.m. Martin Perez (3-3, 4.37 ERA) is set to start for Texas.

Stats: Trout was hitting .324 with 65 RBIs and 70 runs scored in 103 games through Monday. He had 17 homers and 23 stolen bases.
