HANOVER, N.H. — Tyler Melville scored 21 points Saturday night, including a layup in overtime that helped put the game out of reach, as Dartmouth beat Princeton 78-69.

John Golden scored 19, Connor Boehm 14, and Dartmouth (9-9, 2-2 Ivy) outshot Princeton 52.1 percent to 45.1 percent.

Hans Brase scored five straight points for Princeton to tie it at 31 at halftime. Dartmouth led 63-60 with 27 seconds to play, but Will Barrett drew a foul while making a layup and sank the free throw to tie it at 63 at the end of regulation.

Melville’s layup at 1:41 in overtime gave Dartmouth a 70-67 edge, and the Big Green finished on an 8-2 run, with Brandon McDonnell capping the game with a dunk.

Barrett led Princeton (12-5, 0-3) with 28 and shot 6 of 9 from beyond the arc. T.J. Bray scored 16 and Brase 13.
