The Chip Kelly era with the Philadelphia Eagles will begin in prime time.
The Eagles open the 2013 regular season on “Monday Night Football” with a game at Washington on Monday, Sept. 9. Their trip to FedEx Field in Landover, Md., will mark just the second time in Eagles history that they have opened a season on Monday, following their 2005 opener at Atlanta.
Kelly will also not have to wait long to face his predecessor. After taking on San Diego on Sept. 15, the Eagles play host to Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs on “Thursday Night Football” on Sept. 19.
Here’s one early opinion on how Kelly’s first season will play out.
Monday, Sept. 9 - at Washington (7:10 p.m.) - RG III shows that he’s back from his knee injury by throwing three touchdown passes and rushing for 100 yards. (LOSS)
Sunday, Sept. 15 - San Diego (1 p.m.) - Coach Chip Kelly’s high-energy offense wears out a jet-lagged Chargers’ defense. (WIN)

Sunday, Sept. 29 - at Denver (4:25 p.m.) - Kelly orders his team to hold their breath for an entire week to get ready for the high altitude. It doesn’t work. (LOSS)
Sunday, Oct. 6 - at New York Giants (1 p.m.) - Giants quarterback Eli Manning picks on former teammate and Eagles safety Kenny Phillips for two touchdowns. (LOSS)
Sunday, Oct. 13 - at Tampa Bay (1 p.m.) - Eagles play third straight road game for the first time since 2006. Buccaneers get revenge for last season’s last-second loss. (LOSS)
Sunday, Oct. 20 - Dallas (1 p.m.) - Eagles quarterback Michael Vick throws three TD passes and runs for another. (WIN)
