Atlantic City High School's Dayshawn Reynolds and Oakcrest High School's Connie Capone are the 2013 winners of the Old Grad Award. The annual award is presented to the best senior male and female athlete in Atlantic County who have earned a minimum of two varsity letters in two sports.
Reynolds earned six varsity letters in football and basketball. He led the Vikings to back-to-back state Group IV boys basketball championships the last two years. The 6-foot-1 guard was chosen The Press Player of the Year in boys basketball after leading the Vikings to the crown.
Reynolds had 50 receptions for 950 yards for the Atlantic City football team and scored 10 touchdowns.
Capone was The Press Girls Tennis Player of the Year this fall, winning the Cape-Atlantic League individual championship. She earned 10 varsity letters in tennis, swimming and crew.
Capone is also a member of the Oakcrest girls swimming team, and she's the stroke of the Falcons lightweight four on the girls crew team.
