The Eagles will open their preseason with back-to-back road trips to Chicago and New England, respectively, this summer.

They will be taking on the Bears at Soldier Field on Friday, Aug. 8 at 8 p.m., followed by a game against the Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Friday, Aug. 15 at 7:30 p.m. Considering the Eagles and Patriots held joint practices in Philadelphia last summer during training camp, there is a strong possibility the routine will be repeated at New England this year.

The Eagles make their preseason debut at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m. against Pittsburgh, then close the preseason with their annual meeting against the New York Jets at the Linc on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m.

The NFL is expected to announce the 2014 regular-season schedule within the next week. The Eagles play road games at Arizona, Dallas, Green Bay, Houston, Indianapolis, New York Giants, San Francisco and Washington. They will play host to Carolina, Dallas, Jacksonville, New York Giants, St. Louis, Seattle, Tennessee and Washington.
