The Philadelphia Eagles sought to add some depth to their offensive line Friday by signing tackle Ed Wang to a two-year contract.

Wang, 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, became the first-ever Chinese-American to be selected in the NFL draft when Buffalo picked him in the fifth round of the 2010 draft out of Virginia Tech.

Wang's parents, Robert and Nancy, competed for China in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles before immigrating to the United States. Ed Wang grew up in Ashburn, Va.

He played six games for the Bills in 2010 and spent the 2011 season on injured reserve. The 25-year-old signed with Oakland prior to last season but was released and was out of football the entire year.
