The Ocean City Nor'easters soccer team scored twice in the first 30 minutes and held on to beat the host Central Jersey Spartans 2-1 Saturday in a USL Premier Development League game at East Brunswick High School.

Ocean City's Abe Keller scored the first goal 15 minutes into the game, and Frank Tweneboa assisted. Ten minutes later, the Nor'easters made it 2-0 when Ken Tribbett scored following Emmanuel Kollie's cross from the right wing.

Central Jersey scored early in the second half.

O.C. goalies Brian Billings and Keasel Broome played the first and second halves, respectively, to combine on the shutout.

"I feel like we took a comfortable lead but didn't close it out," Nor'easters coach Tim Oswald said. "They came back, but we finally closed it out. We played a lot of guys to keep ourselves healthy going into our U.S. Open Cup game on Tuesday."

Ocean City, 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the PDL, hosts the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, a USL Pro League team, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Carey Stadium in Ocean City in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup second-round game.
