Egg Harbor Township girls tennis team wins first conference title since 1999 From Press staff reports The Press of Atlantic City Media Group

The Egg Harbor Township High School tennis team swept host Vineland 5-0 Thursday to win its first Cape-Atlantic League American Conference title since 1999.

The Eagles, who are ranked No. 10 in The Press Elite 11, are 18-2 overall and 15-1 in the conference.

 

Singles-Katie Garthaus d. Sagel Menghani 6-1, 6-2; Vida Torres d. Neeraja Thakur 6-1, 6-3; Sophie Fernandez d. Brianna Ciancaglini 6-0, 6-2.

Doubles-Maria Ibarra-Christine Pao d. Gina Irrizary-Andrea Ferarri 7-6 (7-2) , 6-4; Zahara James-Caroline Tesone d. Nadya Sontychuk-Olivia Gentilini 6-3, 6-3.

Records-EHT 18-2 (15-1), Vineland 8-12.
