Trey Jones, a graduate of Egg Harbor Township High School, will attend Georgian Court University in Lakewood in the fall to play basketball.

Jones' head coach at EHT, George McNally, said that the NCAA Division II school will be a good fit for the college-bound point guard.

"He's going to be able to step in and be a physical guard. His strength is his strength," McNally said.

Jones, a Press Honorable Mention All-Star this past season, will receive a partial academic scholarship that could turn into a full athletic scholarship if he continues to play basketball at Georgian Court.

Jones said that the decision to go to Georgian Court was easy after weighing his options between Division II and Division III.

"I was happy because I had waited so long. I was originally going to go to prep school, but I didn't like prep school and wanted to go straight to college."

Jones said he contacted a couple of Division III schools such as Widener and Richard Stockton but decided to contact some of the Division II schools that were interested in him.

"Georgian Court was one of the places I was interested in, so I went up there, visited, liked it and that's where I wanted to go," he said.
