The Holy Spirit High School football team will get some well-deserved time off this week.

The Spartans do not play this week after opening their season with wins over Hammonton (30-0) two weeks ago and St. Joseph (31-28) on Friday.

Holy Spirit remains No. 1 in The Press Elite 11 this week.

Three other teams from Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland or southern Ocean counties - No. 6 Millville, No. 8 St. Joseph and No. 9 Lacey Township - are ranked.

While Holy Spirit gets the week off, there will be no rest for St. Joe. The Wildcats will host Millville on Saturday.

The Elite 11 rankings include public school teams that compete for South Jersey titles and non-public teams in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, southern Ocean and Salem counties. (Last week's rankings in parentheses; local teams in bold).

Rankings for soccer, cross country and field hockey appear today on Page D2.
