The NBA could be coming to Atlantic City for one night in October.
The Philadelphia 76ers announced Monday that they will hold a news conference today at Boardwalk Hall about a preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets on Oct. 13.
The Sixers and Boardwalk Hall both declined to comment Monday. The Oct. 13 game against the Nets was on the Sixers' schedule on their website, but there was no venue listed.
The news conference will feature Sixers president Rod Thorn, guard Evan Turner, radio announcer Tom McGinnis and more, according to a team statement.
The Hall has not had an NBA game since Oct. 9, 1982, when the Sixers played a preseason game against the Nets, according to the Hall's website.
There also was a charity game featuring 16 NBA stars during the lockout in 1998.
The Hall has had its share of big-time basketball recently, though. The Atlantic 10 Conference held its men's basketball tournament in the historic building for the past six years, though that tournament will move to Brooklyn this year.
The Hall also announced last week that it will host four Albany Devils minor-league hockey games this season.
