Mainland Regional High School senior Ethan Fischer is competing in No. 1 singles for the fourth straight season.
And all that experience has prepared him well for his senior year.
"It's actually a lot less stressful than the other years," the 17-year-old from Linwood said.
"Honestly, there's a lot less pressure (than in previous years). Whatever happens, happens. I do hope to reach our goals, though."
Fischer hopes to make it further in the Cape-Atlantic League and South Jersey tournaments.
He also hopes that his team can accomplish its goals, too, such as to win the CAL championship.
"Our main goal is to win the (South Jersey) Group III as a team," Fischer said. "Our biggest competition is whatever comes up in the Group III tournament."
Fischer added that Hammonton and Moorestown are two teams to "look out for."
Fischer was named a Group IV All-Star as a sophomore and junior. In 2013, he also was named a second-team Press All-Star.
"It would be nice to win a title my last year" he said, "but if it doesn't happen, that's OK. I'm not worried about it."
Aside from being named an All-Star, "my biggest accomplishment would have to be playing first singles all four years," he said, "and having a pretty decent career in the CAL."
The Mustangs are 4-0 this season and host Oakcrest on Monday at 4 p.m.
