The Cedar Creek High school football team outlasted Oakcrest 19-14 in a Cape-Atlantic League intraconference game Friday night.

Freshman Jesse Milza threw a 42-yard touchdown to Ahmir Mitchell. Nate Pauls recovered a fumble and took it the distance for a touchdown.

Oakcrest came back with a fourth-quarter, 55-yard touchdown pass from LaShawn Elliot to Terrence Smith.

Cedar Creek improved to 2-1, while Oakcrest fell to 0-3.

After Vineland scored the first touchdown of the game, St. Augustine answered with 42 unanswered points. Jose Tabora threw three touchdown passes. Lamont Harris found the end zone twice. The Hermits improved to 3-0 and Vineland fell to 1-2.

The Bulldogs continued their hot start to the season, shutting out Ocean City.

Quasheem Taylor scored on an 83-yard run in the first quarter for Bridgeton's first touchdown. He added an 8-yard run in the fourth for his other score.

Cappadonna Miller returned an interception 27 yards for a touchdown to give Bridgeton a 12-0 lead in the first quarter.

Ocean City hung around, trailing 12-0 at the half. But Bridgeton exploded for 19 points in the third quarter led by a pair of touchdown runs from Stefon Bowman and an 11-yard touchdown catch by Nazir Williams from Ronald Williams.

Bridgeton has outscored opponents 145-15 to open the season.

Yamire McNeal had touchdowns in each quarter for Middle Township.

McNeal rushed for a 27-yard score in the first and a long 67-yard touchdown in the second. He then got a little creative with his third touchdown, connecting with Erik Arenberg on a 32-yard halfback pass.

McNeal's fourth touchdown came on a 46-yard run. He finished the day with 197 yards on 15 carries with three rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown.

Arenberg had two touchdown receptions for the Panthers.

Pleasantville's two scores came on a 41-yard touchdown pass from Che'quan Hargose to Ronnell Moore and a 27-yard interception return from Dimitri Ledger.

A.J. Opre's 15-yard run in the fourth quarter, his second touchdown of the game, proved to be the difference maker for the Bengals. Opre's other touchdown came on a 4-yard run in the third quarter that gave Barnegat a 14-6 lead. Cinjun Erskine scored the first touchdown of the game on a quarterback keeper.

Kicker Ryan Ulrich had a perfect game, making all three extra points and hitting a 21-yard field goal.
