The Holy Spirit High School football team, which is ranked No. 1 in The Press Elite 11, clinched the Cape-Atlantic League American Conference with a 56-19 win over Oakcrest on Friday night.
Andrew Light, who is filling in for the injured T.J. Anderson, scored three rushing touchdowns, the third on a 55-yard option play to open up the third quarter.
Oakcrest marched down the field to open the game, scoring on a 6-yard touchdown run by freshman Kendall Elliott. Spirit answered right back with a 48-yard run by Taalib Gerald, the first of three for the senior runningback.
Immediately following Light’s first touchdown run that made it a 14-6 game, the Spartans’ Franco Rifici returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown.
Oakcrest cut the game to 28-12 in the second when Quincy Hughes caught a 35-yard touchdown pass on a halfback toss from Brandon Roberson.

Lamont Harris had two first quarter touchdowns for St. Augustine. R.J. D’Amico returned a punt for 55 yards for the Hermits. Jose Tabora threw a 44 yard touchdown pass to Austin Fransico. Freshman Brandon Outlaw ran in the final score from 20 yards out.

Quasheem Taylor scored on touchdowns of 53, 40 and 46 yards to lead the Bulldogs.
Cappadonna Miller had 27-yard, 8-yard, and 16-yard touchdown runs to go with two interceptions in the end zone that halted a pair of Vineland drives.
Taylor finished the game with 191 yards on seven carries and Miller had 85 yards on six carries to go with their three touchdowns each. Stefon Bowman had 103 yards on 11 carries which included a 9-yard touchdown in the third.
