Pinelands Regional High School snapped a 22-game losing streak, beating Pt. Pleasant Boro, 16-13, in a comeback Shore Conference overtime thriller.

It was Pinelands' first win since beating Toms River South on November 5, 2010. The big win came just one week after losing 61-7 to Lacey Township.

Jon Kubricki nailed three field goals, the last a 34-yarder, for the Wildcats. The win also served as head coach Brian Wilkinson's first in his first season as the head coach of Pinelands.

David Hood found the end zone three times for the Braves as they bounced back from last week's loss to improve to 1-1.

Hood's longest run of the game came on a 47-yard score in the second quarter that gave Absegami a 12-0 lead.

Middle Township was able to cut the score to 12-7 near the end of the first half thanks to a 14-yard touchdown reception by Jim Versage. That was the Panthers' only score as they were shut out in the second half.

Wide receiver Nazir Williams caught three passes for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Both scores came on passes of 24 and 47 from quarterback Ronald Williams.
