Warren Brown, of Galloway Township, finished second in the Jersey Speed Skiffs division at the American Powerboat Association Summer Nationals on June 22 in Kent Island, Md.

There were 20 boats in the division.

Brown was piloting JS-65, called "Kiss," and son Warren Brown IV, also of Galloway Township, was the riding mechanic. Skiffs have two in the boat.

There was also racing at Kent Island on June 23, and Brown was second for the weekend.

Jimmy Stewart of Annapolis, Md., was the Skiffs winner in the Summer Nationals and for the weekend in the division.

"It's the best we've ever done in 10 years of racing," said the elder Brown.

"We did some research and changed the motor system and the prop, and did some additional stuff."

Brown said that he is currently in fourth place in Jersey Speed Skiffs national high points.

The Browns will next race at Cambridge, Md., on July 27 and 28.
