Holy Spirit High School girls basketball coach Larry DiGiovanni earned his 200th win Monday as the Spartans beat Cape May Tech 55-13.

DiGiovanni, in his 10th season with the Spartans, has just 55 losses.

"I'm very thankful to the girls we've had in the program," DiGiovanni said in a phone interview. "They've been committed to sharing the ball on offense, playing good defense and each other.

"We have great assistant coaches who've worked with the girls individually and parents who have supported the team immensely."

Joanna Persiano scored 12 points and Emily Bell grabbed 12 rebounds for Holy Spirit, No. 4 in The Press' Elite 11.

"This year's group is a very special one. They work hard together. Above all else, they understand what's expected of them and are willing to rise to the challenges," DiGiovanni said.

Kerry Player had four points for Cape May Tech.
