Middle Township High School hit four free-throws in overtime to edge Lower Cape May Regional 39-36 in a Cape-Atlantic League National Conference girls basketball game Tuesday.

Jillian Vandermark tied the game for Lower late in the fourth quarter.

Middle Township, No. 10 in the Elite 11, was fouled with six seconds left in regulation, but was unable to end the game.

Holly McKaig led Middle with 13 points. Lauryn Fields added nine for the Panthers.

Nicole Sangillo scored eight points for Lower, while Jessica McDowell, Ariel Magee and Vandermark added seven apiece for the Caper Tigers.

After scoring just two points in the first quarter, Millville pulled ahead 18-16 at the half and never lost its lead.

Amanda Smith led Millville with a game high 15 points. Lexi Bruno and Ashli Weems each added 10 for the Thunderbolts.

Summer Crilley also scored 15 points for Holy Spirit. Annie Wenz added 12.

Vineland's Tanasia Russell scored 23 points and Ariana Stokes had nine.
