Mariya Ruban led Our Lady of Mercy Academy with nine points and 10 rebounds Wednesday in a 58-32 loss to unbeaten Dreher (9-0) in the opening round of the CresCom Bank Holiday Invitational at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center in S.C.
Ruban also recorded four blocks, while Caitlyn Covella added eight points. Ruta Vetra contributed six points and three steals for the Villagers, which play Myrtle Beach High School today at 10 a.m. in the second round.
For Dreher, Kaydra Duckett posted a game-high 18 points.
