The Press Girls Cross Country Coach of Year

A young Lacey Township High School girls cross country team emerged as one of Ocean County's best and a South Jersey Group III contender this fall.
Lions coach Chuck Edens is The Press Coach of the Year.
Lacey finished fourth at the Ocean County championships and fourth at the South Jersey Group III championships to qualify for the state group championships. The Lions are No. 11 in the The Press Elite 11 final rankings of the season.
"This is the best year for Lacey's cross country," Edens said. "It feels good to be able to (coach a team like that) when they put in hard work starting in July and are dedicated all the way through the season. We had a very young team made up of freshmen, sophomores and juniors and they'll all be back next year."
