Jessica Freeman is a triple threat at Wildwood High School

The 17-year-old center forward has already scored seven goals this season, including three in the 3-0 victory over Salem High School last Wednesday. Freeman stays busy playing softball and basketball for Wildwood as well.

How she got started with soccer: I started playing at a young age but I really started to get into it freshman year. I play basketball and I wanted to stay in shape. (Soccer coach Brad McLeon) told me to come out for the team and I loved it. I love the team and the girls and it's just a fun sport to play.

Her favorite part of soccer: It's the coaches, it's the girls, it's part of being a team. It's a great experience. ... I like making contact with the ball and I absolutely love heading the ball. (I enjoy) the aggressiveness of the whole game and just playing and having fun.

Her friendships on the team: I love playing with my sister (Jillian Freeman, Wildwood sophomore). We play every single sport together - soccer, basketball and softball. We're kind of like a duo. I have also played sports with my friend Chelsea Mole (senior) for as long as I can remember.

Her favorite athlete and team: (I admire) Dustin Pedroia on the Red Sox. He's beyond aggressive on the field and he's always on top of everything. He's the heart and soul of the team and I just love that.

Her goals for the season: I just want to get better and improve my skills and overall become a better player so I can leave (high school) accomplished and happy. This is probably the last year I will be playing soccer. I would love to play in college, but I am more focused on playing basketball at that level.

On her team: Without my team I wouldn't be as good as I am now, and we always have fun.

We finish each other's sentences, and there's always someone there to help you.
