Lower Cape May Reg. girls basketball
She became the all-time leading scorer for Lower Cape May Regional High School in a 71-61 victory over Sterling in the South Jersey Group II quarterfinals Thursday. Holden scored 41 in the game to give her 1,672 career points, more than any other LCM boy or girl has ever scored. Charles Johnson set the previous school record of 1,661 in 2006. On Saturday, Holden scored 17 in a sectional semifinal loss to Cedar Creek. She also scored 23 in a 54-23 win over Woodstown last Tuesday in the first round.
Holy Spirit boys basketball
The senior forward scored 18 points, including the 1,000th of his career, in Holy Spirit's 73-29 win over Mater Dei in the first round of the South Jersey Non-Public B playoffs last Tuesday. Two days later, Saintel scored 17 in a 67-52 win over Gill St. Bernard. On Saturday, he scored 15 in a loss to The Patrick School in the sectional semifinals in Rahway.
