Cumberland Regional High School's Raykena Brown scored the winning goal unassisted in the first half as the Colts field hockey team beat host Deptford Township 3-0 on Saturday.

Alyssa Donato scored off an assist by Michaela Hitchner to make it 2-0 and Abby Joseph added an unassisted goal. Colts goalie Courtney Birdsall had to make one save for the shutout.

South Jersey Shootout Meet

Delsea Regional High School's Celina Mazzi took home the 2013 South Jersey Shootout Meet win with a time of 18 minutes, 51 seconds in the girls stud meet. The race was held at Gloucester County College.

Ocean City's Epiphany Grisbaum led all Cape-Atlantic League competitors with a time of 19:15.

For the boys stud meet, Sterling's Sean Macpherson finished well ahead of the rest of the competition, beating the next competitor by 25 seconds. He finished with a time of 16:08.

Ocean City's Louis Paone had a time of 16:52 to lead all CAL participants.

Middle Township High School's Ryan Herlihy won the race in 17 minutes, 5 seconds to lead the Panthers to the team victory at the Big Five boys cross country meet at Wildwood on Friday.

Middle Township scored 23 points, while second-place Lower Cape May Regional totaled 55 points and Cape May Tech had 73. Wildwood scored 112 points for fourth place and Wildwood Catholic had 115 for fifth.

Trevor Gentek was second for Wildwood in 17:24, and Middle's Mike Feraco was third in 17:37.
