The Cinnaminson High School baseball team edged visiting Middle Township 3-2 on Friday in a South Jersey Group II quarterfinal game. Pirates pitcher John Bednarek went the distance and gave up two hits, with eight strikeouts and two walks.

Middle's Zack Vogelei hit a solo homer in the fifth inning. Justin Lent hit a sacrifice fly for the fifth-seeded Panthers in the top of the seventh inning. Middle pitcher Doug Schwartz lost for the first time this season, allowing six hits, with two walks and three strikeouts.
