It's the first weekend of college football and you can watch several local players in action. Here's a quick glance at who to watch, when and on what channel.

Villanova at Boston College, noon (ESPNEWS)

Villanova has several locals players who will see a lot of action in this game, including starting safety Joe Sarnese (Holy Spirit), defensive end Antoine Lewis (Mainland Regional) and cornerback Craig James (Oakcrest). Chris Gough (St. Augustine Prep) handles the place-kicking duties for the Wildcats.

Nico D'Angelo (Holy Spirit) and Justin Rhinesmith (Middle Twp.) are reserve offensive linemen for Villanova.

Jarrett Darmstatter (Barnegat) is listed as the starting fullback for Boston College.

William & Mary at West Virginia, noon (Fox Sports 1)

Mainland Regional grad Brent Caprio will not be available at quarterback due to offseason foot surgery. But according to a story in the Daily Press, Caprio is closer than expected to returning to play in his senior season.

RB Darnell Laws (St. Augustine Prep) had 51 carries for 267 yards and three touchdowns last season. He moved to fullback in the spring and is listed as the starter.

Christian Brown (Bridgeton) is the backup nose tackle for West Virginia. DB Ismail Showell (Oakcrest) made the team as a walk-on last season but is not with the team this year.

Penn State vs. Syracuse, 3:30 p.m. (ABC) at Met Life Stadium

Glenn Carson (Southern Regional) is the starting middle linebacker for the Nittany Lions. Defensive tackle Austin Johnson (St. Augustine Prep) and linebacker Brandon Bell (Oakcrest) are reserve players.

Temple at Notre Dame, 3:30 p.m. (NBC)

Jeff Whittingham (Atlantic City) is a starting offensive lineman for the Owls.
