AJ Dawson from Holy Spirit High School won the 200-meter dash at the 79th Eastern States Indoor Track and Field Championships at the New York City Armory on Monday.

Dawson's time was 22.04 seconds to break the school record of 22.64 he set earlier this year. Coach David Pfeifer said 22.04 is the fastest time by a New Jersey runner this season.

Meanwhile, the Pleasantville boys 4x800 relay team of Dagoberto Arias, Issac Clark, Radcliffe Narinensingh and Jacob Clark won in 7 minutes, 45.55 seconds.

For the Egg Harbor Township boys, Curtis Fitzpatrick won the 55 in 6.47 seconds. Bridgeton's Braheme Days Jr. was victorious in the shot put with a 67-foot, 8-inch effort. Kevin Scott of Ocean City was sixth in the 2-mile run in 9:42.37.

In the girls events, Southern Regional's A relay of Courtney Muraczewski, Brianna Angellella, Melana Hammel and Kaitlyn Mooney was fourth in the distance medley relay in 12:11.47.

Egg Harbor Township's Lola Agabalogun was fourth in the shot put (42-0).
