The doubles crew of Jeff Garbutt and Tom Sher won the Brennan McCann Masters Series 3-mile row Saturday morning at Seaview Harbor beach in Egg Harbor Township.

Garbutt, of the Ocean City Beach Patrol, and Sher, a Ventnor Beach Patrol alumnus, finished in 32 minutes, 51 seconds.

Wayne MacMurray, an Upper Township lifeguard, and Bill Kindle, a Wildwood Beach Patrol alumnus, were second in 32:59. Brothers John Swift and Jim Swift, both former Margate lifeguards, placed third in 33:01.

Eleven crews competed in the first of the summer's five McCann races.
