The Oakcrest High School girls lacrosse team scored six goals in the second half to come back and beat Ocean City 9-8 in sudden-death overtime on Tuesday.

It was the Falcons' first win against Ocean City in program history, dating back to its start in 2009.

"It was a long game but a hard-fought battle," Oakcrest coach Abby Mullen said. "We dug deep and pulled it out. I couldn't be more proud of those kids."

Courtney DeFalco tied the game up with 4 minutes, 8 seconds left in regulation, sending the game to overtime.

The game remained scoreless through the first six minutes of overtime, sending it to sudden death.

Dom Barber scored 5 minutes, 10 seconds into the sudden-death period to give the Falcons the 9-8 win. It was her fourth goal of the game.

Ocean City's Kelly Hanna led with three goals, and Abby Lyons and Kristi Rohrer added two apiece.

Madie Gibson led the Caper Tigers with five goals. Lower's defense combined with Gab McKeown's eight second-half saves held off EHT.

Emily Levin, Ashley Hunt and Logan Walter each scored two goals for Lower. Hunt's goal, with the assist going to Kemlyn Pearson, was the deciding tally.

EHT was led by Mackenzie Meyer's three goals with Lauren Angello and Jordan Valian adding two apiece.

Bridget Ruskey led the Panthers with seven goals, and Jenna Hurley added six in the win. Allison Hunter scored twice and had a game-high six assists.

Middle's Courtney Lang made 19 saves. Megan Hoffman scored four goals for Millville.

Nicole Goodwin led the Braves with six goals. Her fifth goal of the game was her 100th career goal, coming with 10:04 left in the first half. Naomi Earl scored five goals for the Braves.

The Ocean City High School boys lacrosse team beat Oakcrest High School for the first time in three years on Tuesday, 8-6.

The score was tied at six with two minutes left in the fourth quarter. Ocean City's Tommy Cusack scored the go-ahead goal with 1:30 left in the game.

Oakcrest's Blake Biren and Paulie Stablini each scored two goals, while Nick Vervizco had 13 saves.
