Khalif Wyatt scored 20 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 7 seconds left, then Temple hung on in a frenzied final second to complete its come-from-behind 72-71 win over host Dayton on Saturday.

The Owls (16-7, 5-4 Atlantic 10 Conference), who trailed 68-58 with 4:31 remaining, closed the game with a 14-3 spurt, with Scootie Randall scoring five in the spree. After Wyatt's 3-pointer, Will Cummings stole the ball from the Flyers' Kevin Dillard with 3 seconds showing.

In the last second, Dayton missed two free throws and Temple missed three, plus committed a turnover when Jake O'Brien fired his second free-throw attempt off the backboard.

The Flyers (13-10, 3-6) inbounded the ball, but it was touched by the Owls, ending the game.

Villanova 68, South Florida 40

Darrun Hilliard scored 17 points to lead host Villanova to a victory over cold-shooting South Florida.

The Wildcats (15-9, 6-5 Big East) led by as many as 34 points against the short-handed Bulls (10-13, 1-10), who were without leading scorer and rebounder Victor Rudd, who was out with a groin injury.

JayVaughn Pinkston finished with 10 points for Villanova, which shot 52.4 percent (22-for-42) from the field, including 53.8 percent (7-for-13) from 3-point range.

Yale 69, Princeton 65

Javier Duren scored 13 points and Yale snapped host Princeton's six-game winning streak.

Austin Morgan and Sam Martin each scored 11 points for the Bulldogs (9-14, 3-3 Ivy League), who have won two consecutive games. Princeton (11-8, 4-1) also had its 21-game home Ivy League winning streak snapped. It was the program's longest since winning 26 in a row from 1996-99.

Terrell Vinson had a game-high 18 points to power host Massachusetts past Saint Joseph's.

Sampson Carter scored 16, Chaz Williams added 11 points and nine assists and Freddie Riley chipped in 10 to help UMass (15-6, 5-3) win its third straight game. Cady Lalanne finished with a game-high 12 rebounds and the Hawks outscored the Minutemen in the paint 42-20. Langston Galloway led the Hawks (13-8, 4-4) with 14 points and seven assists.

Pennsylvania 71, Brown 48

In Philadelphia, Miles Cartwright had 28 points and seven rebounds, and Pennsylvania outscored Brown by 20 points in the second half en route to an Ivy League victory.

NJIT 63, Chicago State 58

In Chicago, Chris Flores scored 16 points and went 4-for-4 from 3-point range as NJIT won.

Iona 78, Rider 71

In New Rochelle, N.Y., Jonathon Thompson scored a career-high 26 points as the Broncs (13-13, 8-6) had their two-game winning streak snapped.
