Richard Stockton College's Briana Fischer scored the only goal of the game on a penalty kick as the Ospreys beat host Kean University 1-0 in women's soccer Saturday in Union.

The game was the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener for both teams. Stockton improved to 7-2 overall; Kean fell to 3-3-1.

The Ospreys drew a foul inside the box in the seventh minute of the second half, and Fischer booted her first goal of the season. Stockton's Sarah Hinkle made nine saves for her fourth shutout of the season.

Stockton volleyball: The Ospreys won both of their matches in straight sets on the second day of the Days Inn Blue Jay Classic at Elizabethtown College (Pa.) on Saturday.

Stockton (8-5) was the runner-up of the tournament, having gone 3-1 for the two days.

Stockton beat Elizabethtown College 3-0 with game scores of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-16 in the first match Saturday. The Ospreys then beat Rochester College (N.Y.) 3-0, with scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-13.

Stockton's Nicole Serekian had 27 kills for the day, and was named to the all-tournament team. Teammates Mayan Alvarado and Shannon Clark each had 32 assists on the day.
