The Cumberland County College baseball team won twice Friday to reach to the Region 19 championship game.

The Dukes defeated Brookedale 6-1 and then Ocean County College 6-2.

Anthony Lopez went 4-for-7 with four RBIs for the day. Tyler Mixon went 2-for-4 with three RBIs against Ocean County.

The Dukes (45-7) will play for the championship at Ocean County College today at 3 p.m.

Stockton track and field: The Richard Stockton College men's and women's track and field teams competed in the Georgian Court Last Chance Meet in Toms River.

The Ospreys attempted to attain or improve upon qualifying standards for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships that will be held May 15-16 and the NCAA Division III championships set for May 22-24.

Stockton's Emily Higbee (Holy Spirit) moved up to 23rd in the nation with a personal best in the javelin with a throw of 41.14 meters. Jamie Christensen qualified in the 400-meter hurdles with a seventh-place finish of 1 minute, 5.34 seconds.

For the men's team, Tyler Pinto took second in the 800 in 1:56.99. Larry Floyd was fourth in the 110 hurdles in 15.47.

Nearly 30 Ospreys qualified for the ECAC Championships, which will be held at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.
