Richard Stockton College began its spring track and field season in wintry conditions that included a coating of snow, but the foul weather did not stop the Ospreys from winning seven events at the Ursinus Invitational in Collegeville, Pa., on Saturday.

In the men's meet, Stockton won four events and finished second among 10 teams. The Stockton women, who won three events, finished third among nine teams in their meet.

The Stockton men's winners: Alex Bruno, 800-meter run (2 minutes, 4.80 seconds); James Rivers (Barnegat H.S.), 1,500 (4:12.62); Tim Miller (Pinelands Regional), high jump (1.88 meters); and Ryan Mazzeo (Ocean City), pole vault (3.80).

Also for the Ospreys, Randy Faiges finished second behind Rivers in the 1,500 (4:16.37), and Jack Stephenson (Ocean City) was second in the javelin (49.98).

Winners for the Stockton women included Nicole Salge, 800 (2:26.53); Morgan Sinclair, 1,500 (5:05.38) and Christina Lees won the pole vault (3.05m).

Runner-up finishers for the Ospreys were Nichole Sevilis , pole vault (3.05) and Bree Hudik, discus (32.84); Nikki Stratton, long jump (5.14). Stratton qualified for the ECAC Championships in the long jump.

Stockton lacrosse: Muhlenberg (4-3) won 18-12, sending the Ospreys (2-3) to their third straight loss.

Nick Bologno scored three goals and and had three assists for the Ospreys. Drew Wright added three goals and one assist. Eugene Isola scored three goals and scooped a team-high 10 ground balls.

Also scoring for Stockton - Vincent Manasia (two goals) and James O'Donnell.

For the Mules (4-3), who led 12-6 at halftime, Jason Mertz had three goals and two assists.

Stockton baseball: The Ospreys finished their Florida trip with a pair of losses to St. Scholastica (Minn.), 10-7 and 4-3. Stockton is 9-7.

Stockton's Andy Oliver went 2-for-3 with a double, a run and an RBI in the first game, and Shawn Kessler and Mark Jankowski each added two hits and a run.

In the second game, Jankowski, Oliver, Luke Root (Buena Regional), Barry Larro (Cumberland Regional) and George Eisenhart each had two hits. Oliver and Root each doubled.

Stockton hosts Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
