The Richard Stockton College softball team swept its second straight New Jersey Athletic Conference doubleheader, beating visiting Rutgers-Newark University 3-1 and 14-6 Saturday.

The Ospreys (15-5 overall and 4-2 NJAC) hit four home runs, two of which were by Grace Long (Egg Harbor Township) in the second game, which ended in six innings on the eight-run rule.

Dominique Dorris went 2-for-3 for Stockton in the first game, and Nicole Chabak hit a two-run homer. Samantha Shockey had two hits. Winning pitcher Michelle Pietrocola gave up three hits and struck out nine.

Stockton had season highs of 14 runs and 17 hits in the second game. Long was 3-for-3 with a three-run homer and a two-run homer. Shockley had three hits and three runs, and Marisa Ortiz had three hits and two runs. Dorris hit a three-run homer. Brittany Ksiezopolski was the winning pitcher.

Stockton hosts Rowan University in a doubleheader on Tuesday starting at 3 p.m.

Stockton women's lacrosse: The Ospreys (8-2), a new program this spring, played their first NJAC game, losing 20-9 to unbeaten Montclair State in Montclair. The loss ended Stockton's six-game winning streak.

Colleen Knight led the Ospreys with three goals, and Carlie Flake added two goals and an assist. Nicole Miller scored two goals, including the first goal of the game with just more than three minutes into the game. Stockton goalie Mary Stornes (Absegami) had 12 saves. Tierney Conlon topped the Red Hawks with eight goals.

Stockton hosts Rutgers-Camden at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Stockton women's crew: The Ospreys won varsity four and novice four races against Rutgers-Camden in Ventnor. The Stockton varsity four, which included Liz Baldwin, Colleen Hill, Victoria Beaulieu, Melissa Yurowski (Barnegat) and coxswain Kaitey Davidson (Egg Harbor Township) won in 9 minutes, 3 seconds.

Stockton will compete in the Knecht Cup on Saturday in West Windsor.

Stockton baseball: The Ospreys split with visiting Ramapo College, winning the first game 11-8 and losing the second game 7-3.

The Ospreys are 12-8 overall and 2-2 NJAC. Ramapo is 11-6 and 1-2.

George Eisenhart led Stockton in the first game with two hits, including a three-run double, and five RBIs. Luke Root (Buena Regional) had two hits, including a two-run single, and Andy Oliver and Brett Solomen also had two hits. Winning pitcher Adam Warburton allowed two hits.

Stockton had only five hits in the second game, including two by Mike Bush (Southern Regional). Stockton led 2-1 after one inning but didn't score again until the ninth.

The Ospreys host William Paterson today, starting at 11:30 a.m.
