Richard Stockton College women's soccer improved to 8-3 with a 2-0 shutout over New Jersey Athletic Conference opponent William Paterson Saturday afternoon.
Stockton scored in each half, the first goal coming from Jacque Becker. Becker got a forwarding pass from Jessica Balnis (Buena) and scored from 10 yards out to put the Ospreys up, 1-0.
The Ospreys added an insurance goal just 34 seconds into the second half. Brooke Southard (Our Lady of Mercy Academy) scored her second goal of the season to make it 2-0.
Stockton improved to 2-1 in NJAC play. They play at Rowan University at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Stockton field hockey: The Ospreys pulled off a comeback win against Keyston College, 3-2, in overtime in La Plume, Pa.
Trailing 2-1, Susie Balidemaj scored on a penalty stroke with 4 minutes, 32 seconds remaining to tie the game up, 2-2. Megan Irving scored the game-winner 12:56 into overtime, her fifth goal of the year.
Stockton improved to 6-3 on the season. They host Gwynedd-Mercy College on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Stockton women's volleyball: The Ospreys won the two-day Baruch College Invitational, beating Skidmore College 3-0 (25-15, 25-13 and 25-19) and Hunter College 3-1 (25-27, 25-13, 25-18 and 25-14) on Saturday in New York. Stockton's Nicole Serekian, the tournament MVP, had 30 kills and 22 digs on the day.
Cumberland County College men's soccer: Cumberland lost to Sussex County Community College 3-2. Josue Guadarrama (Buena Regional) and Nate Fuller scored for the Dukes (4-5).
Cumberland County College women's soccer: Bucks County Community College beat Cumberland 4-1. Jasmine Miro scored for the Dukes.
