Local college roundup: Ursinus spoils home opener for Richard Stockton lacrosse team

The Richard Stockton College men's lacrosse team lost to Ursinus College 15-5 in the Ospreys' home opener in Galloway Township on Saturday.

Mark Stratton led the Bears, who are from Collegeville, Pa., with five goals.

Freshman Shane Moyer and Cal Sebor each had one goal and an assist for Stockton, and James O'Donnell, Nick Bologno and Connor DeCicco added one goal apiece. Freshman goalie Kevin Eipel had 13 saves for the Ospreys.

Cumberland County College baseball: The Dukes swept a doubleheader from Westchester County College (N.Y.) in Vineland. Cumberland (10-1) won 6-5 and then 2-0.

Devin McCann singled in two runs in the seventh inning of the opener, and scored the winning run on an error. Anthony Lopez (Buena Regional) was 2-for-4 with two runs. Terrence Stewart (Atlantic City) was the winning pitcher in relief.

Cumberland's Ridge Hermann went the seven-inning distance in the second game, allowing three hits and striking out five. Seth Dorety was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Tim Gallagher (Hammonton) had an RBI double.

Cumberland hosts Rockland County (N.Y.) in a doubleheader at noon today in Vineland.
