Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) went 1-for-3 (double) with three RBIs and one run scored for the Tennessee Smokies (Cubs) in a 10-7 win over the Birmingham Barons (White Sox) on Sunday in Game 4 of their best-of-five playoff series in the double-A Southern League. Szczur, who led off and played center field, also walked once, stole a base and struck out once in helping the Smokies tie the series at two games apiece. He is hitting .267 with four RBIs in the series. The fifth and deciding game is scheduled for 7:15 tonight at Smokies Park. In Game 3 on Saturday, Szczur went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in a 9-2 win.

Alexi Colon (St. Augustine Prep) hit a two-run home run for the Schaumburg (Ill.) Boomers in the second inning of Game 2 of their best-of-five Frontier League playoff series against the Florence Freedom on Sunday night. The Boomers won 6-2 to take a 2-0 series lead. Colon went 1-for-3.
