Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) of the Tennessee Smokies (Cubs) in the double-A Southern League was 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI in a 7-2 win over Chattanooga. Szczur is hitting .290 with 38 runs scored, 29 RBIs and 15 stolen bases in 66 games.

Darren Ford (Vineland) of the Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) in the triple-A International League was 2-for-5 with two runs scored in a 5-3 win over Norfolk in 10 innings. Ford had a double and his 14th stolen base of the season. Ford is hitting .211 with 24 hits, 13 runs scored, nine RBIs in 34 games.

A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) is 3-4 with a 4.56 ERA in 14 starts this season for the Lynchburg HillCats (Braves) in the Class-A Advanced Carolina League. In 75 innings, Holland has given up 76 hits, struck out 47 and walked 38. The HillCats are off until Friday due to the Carolina League all-star break.

Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) is 5-6 with a 4.24 ERA in 13 starts for the Clinton LumberKings (Mariners) in the Class-A Midwest League. In 68 innings, he has given up 68 hits and 23 walks while striking out 48. His last start was Thursday. His next start has not yet been announced, and the LumberKings are off until today due to the Midwest League all-star break.
