Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and one run scored for the Tennessee Smokies (Cubs) in an 11-8 loss to the Chattanooga Lookouts (Dodgers) in the double-A Southern League on Saturday night.
Szczur, who led off and played center field, also stole one base and was caught stealing once.
He is hitting .298 with 39 runs scored, 33 RBIs and 16 stolen bases in 70 games.
Darren Ford (Vineland) entered the game in the seventh inning as a defensive replacement in right field and drew a bases-loaded walk and scored for the Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) in a 7-1 win over the Charlotte Knights (White Sox) in the the triple-A International League.
Ford is hitting .223 with 15 runs scored, 11 RBIs and 16 stolen bases on 20 attempts in 37 games.
Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) gave up four runs on four hits, including a home run, and four walks in a no-decision for the Clinton LumberKings (Mariners) in a 5-4, 10-inning win at Burlington in in the Class-A Midwest League. He struck out none.
DeCecco is 5-6 with a 4.50 ERA in 14 starts.
A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) is 3-4 with a 4.56 ERA in 14 starts this season for the Lynchburg HillCats (Braves) in the Class-A Advanced Carolina League. His next start has not yet been announced.
