Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) started and got a no-decision for the Clinton LumberKings (Mariners) in their 6-5 victory against the Burlington Bees (Angels) in the Class-A Midwest League on Thursday night.

DeCecco pitched four-plus innings (he faced three batters in the fifth), giving up five runs (four earned) on eight hits, including a home run. He walked three and struck out five.

DeCecco is 3-4 with a 3.64 ERA through nine starts.

Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) did not play for the Tennessee Smokies (Cubs) in a 2-0 win over the Huntsville Stars (Brewers) in the double-A Southern League.

Szczur, an outfielder, is hitting .291 with 28 runs scored, 21 RBIs and 13 stolen bases in 42 games. His on-base percentage is .351.

Darren Ford (Vineland) did not play for the Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) in a 7-3 win over the Buffalo Bisons (Blue Jays) of the triple-A International League.

Ford, an outfielder, was batting .235 with 11 runs scored, seven RBIs and 12 stolen bases in 25 games through Wednesday.

A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) is 3-2 with a 3.18 ERA in nine starts for the Lynchburg HillCats (Braves) in the Class-A Advanced Carolina League.

He has struck out 34 and walked 23 in 51 innings. His last start was Tuesday.
