Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) gave up one run on three hits in 52/3 innings to earn the win for the Clinton LumberKings (Mariners) in a 4-3 victory against the Burlington Bees (Angels) in the Class-A Midwest League on Sunday.

DeCecco, who walked none, hit one batter and struck out five, improved to 4-5 with a 4.03 ERA in 11 starts.

In 58 innings, he has given up 58 hits, walked 20 and struck out 43.

Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) and the Tennessee Smokies (Cubs) were rained out against the Jackson Generals (Mariners) in the double-A Southern League.

They will play a doubleheader today.

In 50 games, Szczur, an outfielder, is hitting .282 with 31 runs scored, 23 RBIs and 14 stolen bases on 19 attempts. His on-base percentage is .355.

Darren Ford (Vineland) did not play for the Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) in a 13-3 win over the Columbus Clippers (Indians) in the triple-A International League.

Ford, an outfielder, is batting .228 with 11 runs scored, seven RBIs and 13 stolen bases on 17 attempts in 28 games.

A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) is 3-4 with a 4.11 ERA in 11 starts for the Lynchburg HillCats (Braves) in the Class-A Advanced Carolina League.

In 57 innings, he has given up 56 hits, struck out 38 and walked 28. His last start was Friday, and his next one has yet to be announced.
