DeCecco gave up four runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out five.
DeCecco is 9-8 with a 4.49 ERA in 24 starts. In 132 1/3 innings, he has given up 136 hits, walked 42 and struck out 77.
Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) went 1-for-4 and threw out a runner at second base for the Tennessee Smokies (Cubs) in a 4-3 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts (Dodgers) in the double-A Southern League.
Szczur is hitting .283 with 66 runs scored, 41 RBIs and 21 stolen bases on 33 attempts in 113 games. He is hittting .356 (16-for-45) in his last 11 games.
Darren Ford (Vineland) went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base for the Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) in a 4-2 loss to the Columbus Clippers (Indians) in the triple-A International League.
