Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) was 1-for-3 and played in left field Friday for the Tennessee Smokies (Cubs) in an 8-6 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts (Dodgers) in the double-A Southern League. He came into the game in the fifth inning as a defensive substitution. Szczur is hitting .283 with 66 runs scored, 41 RBIs and 21 stolen bases on 33 attempts in 114 games.

Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) started Thursday for the Clinton (Iowa) LumberKings (Mariners). He got a no-decision, giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings in a 6-5 win over the Quad Cities River Bandits (Astros) in a single-A Midwest League game. He struck out five. He is 9-8 with a 4.49 ERA in 24 starts. In 132Ä innings, he has given up 136 hits, walked 42 and struck out 77.

Darren Ford (Vineland) went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base for the Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) in a 4-2 loss to the Columbus Clippers (Indians) in the triple-A International League on Thursday. In Friday’s game, he was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts as the leftfielder and batted ninth. Before Friday’s game, he was hitting .237 with 17 RBIs, 30 runs scored and 24 stolen bases on 33 attempts in 74 games.

A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) is 4-8 with a 4.83 ERA in 22 starts for the Lynchburg Hillcats (Braves) of the Class-A Advanced Carolina League. In 110 innings, he has given up 118 hits, walked 53 and struck out 75. He is scheduled to pitch on Sunday.

Darren Fischer (Cumberland Regional) is 0-3 with a 5.60 ERA in 11 relief appearances for the Princeton Rays in the rookie-level Appalachian League. In 171/3 innings, he has allowed 12 hits, walked seven and struck out 16. He has not pitched since Aug. 2.

Alexi Colon (St. Augustine Prep) from Vineland was 0-for-4 for the Schaumburg (Ill.) Boomers in the Frontier League on Friday. He is hitting .257 with five home runs, 29 RBIs and 27 runs in 69 games.

Charlie Law (Mainland Regional) is 2-2 with a 3.38 ERA in four starts for the Rockland (N.Y.) Boulders in the Can-Am League. He made his last start Tuesday.
