OF Darren Ford (Vineland) went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored for the Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) in a 1-0 10-inning win over the Toledo Mud Hens (Tigers) in the triple-A International League on Wednesday. Ford went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a 6-2 loss to Toledo on Tuesday. Ford is hitting .235 with 18 RBIs, 34 runs scored and 25 stolen bases in 79 games.

OF Matt Szczur (Lower Cape May Regional) and the Tennessee Smokies (Cubs) of the double-A Southern League were off Wednesday. On Tuesday, Szczur went 0-for-4 with an RBI in a 4-2 win over the Mobile BayBears (Diamondbacks). Szczur is hitting .278 with 74 runs scored, 42 RBIs and 21 stolen bases in 124 games.

LHP Scott DeCecco (Middle Township) is 10-8 with a 4.29 ERA in 26 starts overall this season. In 144 2/3 innings, he has given up 149 hits, walked 43 and struck out 87. He also pitched 24 games for the Clinton LumberKings this season. He is 1-0 with a 2.19 ERA in two starts since his promotion. His last start was Monday.

RHP A.J. Holland (Holy Spirit) did not appear in Game 1 of a doubleheader for the Lynchburg Hillcats (Braves) against the Carolina Mudcats (Indians) on Wednesday. Game 2 was postponed because of rain. Holland did not appear against the Frederick Keys (Orioles) on Tuesday. He is 5-9 with a 4.91 ERA in 27 appearances, all but the last three of which were starts, in the Class-A Advanced Carolina League.

RHP Darren Fischer (Cumberland Regional) is 0-3 with a 5.60 ERA in 11 relief appearances for the Princeton (W.Va.) Rays in the rookie-level Appalachian League. In 17 1/3 innings, he has allowed 12 hits, walked seven and struck out 16.

Independent leagues (unaffiliated with MLB)

OF Alexi Colon (St. Augustine Prep) went 0-for-5 for the Schaumburg (Ill.) Boomers in a 12-3 loss to the Frontier Greys on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Colon went 1-for-3 in a 3-1 win over the Greys. Colon is hitting .262 with five home runs, 31 RBIs, five triples and 33 runs scored in 76 games.

RHP Charlie Law (Mainland Regional) gave up four runs on six hits in six innings and was dealt the loss in the Rockland Boulders' 4-3 loss in the Can-Am League against the Quebec Capitales on Wednesday. He walked seven and struck out three. Law is 3-4 with a 3.20 ERA in seven starts. In 39 1/3 innings pitched he has given up 39 hits, walked 28 and struck out 21.
