Ocean City tennis tournaments

The Father and Son and Mother and Daughter tennis tournaments will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the 6th Street Tennis Complex. Call Phil Birnbaum at 609-525-9306.

Ventnor football fundraiser

The Ventnor Pirates football team will hold a fundraiser from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Vagabond Kitchen and Tap Room on Wellington Avenue in Atlantic City. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door. Food and entertainment will be provided. All proceeds will be used to replace the team's equipment, all of which was lost due to Hurricane Sandy.


Harvey Lake Tennis Championships

Mark Wallace, a former standout at Washington Township High School and Robert Morris University, won the men's singles title for the sixth time, beating Brian Stefanowitz 6-3, 6-4 Sunday in Ocean City. Stefanowitz plays for Lafayette College (Pa.).

Paul Tendler of Somers Point and Adam Dakin of Fort Washington, Pa., won the doubles title for the second straight year. They beat Brian McHugh of Brigantine and Frank Manzo of Egg Harbor Township 8-2 in a playoff after both scored 21 in the round robin.

Ocean City Surfing Association

Jack Hendee of Avalon won the boys 13-14 division and Kallie Leonik of Mayville won girls 11-14 Monday at the 7th Street beach in the Ocean City Surfing Association's first contest of the series.

Joey Kelly of Ocean City took boys 11-12. Tucker Collins of Cape May won boys/girls 10-under.
