The crew of Jeff Garbutt and Tom Sher won the Brennan-McCann Masters Row, a three-mile race, in 34 minutes, 11 seconds Saturday morning at Seaview Harbor beach in Egg Harbor Township.
Garbutt is a senior lieutenant with the Ocean City Beach Patrol and Sher is a Ventnor Beach Patrol alumnus.
The lifeguard alumni crew of Jim Swift (Margate) and Ed Harold (Ventnor) finished second in 34:24. Bill Kindle, a Wildwood Beach Patrol alumnus, and Wayne MacMurray, an Upper Township lifeguard, placed third in 34:58.
The race had nine crews.
