Leaders the same at Mid-Atlantic
Published: Aug 21, 2008

From Press staff reports

Cooler than normal temperatures kept most of the fleet tied to the dock Wednesday on Day 3 of the 2008 Mid-Atlantic $500,000 big-game fishing tournament.

Less than favorable conditions were found offshore by the 21 boats that participated. For the second day in a row, the weight categories of the leaderboard remained unchanged.

The leaders were all caught on Day 1: Rich Ryon leads with his 75-pound white marlin and has the top mahi lead with a 43-pounder; Adam Demeusky and Impulse V remains in control of the blue marlin division with the 719-pounder; John Gallagher's Raging Bull still holds the wahoo category lead at 35 pounds; Mike Tyson's Runaway continues to have the top two tuna of 80 and 77 pounds. Shep's Hot Spot

Flounder are biting on the incoming tide at Lakes Bay behind Ventnor where the water temps are 63 degrees and on the outgoing at Risley Channel behind Margate. Use Gulp artificials, spearing and peanut bunker. Robin Scott at Ray Scott's Dock in Margate says to be prepared to cut the leaders when using Gulp because flounder often swallow the hook.
