Little Egg Harbor Township heavyweight Brendan Barrett headlines a card Saturday night at The Claridge — A Radisson Hotel.
Barrett (5-0-2, 5 KOs) will face Antonio Robertson (4-5-1, 2 KOs) in an eight-round main event at the Claridge’s Celebrity Theatre.
Barrett, a 2000 Pinelands Regional High School graduate, also owns a 10-8 record as a mixed martial arts fighter. In his last boxing bout, he notched a first-round TKO over Brian Donahue at the Claridge on March 11.
Robertson, 33, is ending a two-year layoff on Saturday. He has won four in a row after going 0-5-1 in his first six bouts.
At least four other fights are scheduled. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the first bout scheduled for 7 p.m. Tickets range from $55 to $125 and are available at the door.
Saturday’s card is one of three scheduled for the Claridge in the next two months.
On Nov. 18, Millville welterweight Thomas LaManna (24-2, 9 KOs) will end his brief retirement by taking on Samuel Amoako (23-16, 17 KOs), of Silver Spring, Maryland, in a 10-round bout. LaManna, 25, announced his retirement after beating George Sosa via decision at the Claridge on Aug. 19, but quickly reconsidered.
Pleasantville welterweight Anthony Young (18-2, 6 KOs) is scheduled to headline a card on Dec. 16 at the Claridge against an opponent to be named.
