Bucknell University senior defensive lineman Abdullah Anderson capped an excellent career with a year-end conference award.

Anderson, a 2014 Absegami High School graduate, was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year last Tuesday. He also made the all-conference team for the fourth consecutive year.

Anderson had 42 tackles (20 solo), including nine for a loss, and 2.5 sacks this season. He had two fumble recoveries, an interception and a blocked extra point.

He started 43 games during his career and had 171 tackles (96 solo), including 33.5 for a loss, and 15.5 sacks. He also blocked four kicks. He played in all but one of Bucknell’s games during his career, missing his lone game Oct. 14.

Wagner kicker Jim Cooper Jr. (Mainland Regional), a grad student, was named to the Northeast Conference first team Wednesday. Cooper wrapped up his collegiate career this season, going 11 for 19 in field goals, including a season-high 50-yarder Oct. 28. He averaged 59.3 yards on 47 kickoffs, including 12 touchbacks.

Linebacker Anthony Stubbs (Millville) had three tackles, including a sack, and three quarterback hurries in Prairie View A&M’s 30-16 win over Texas Southern on Saturday.

Running back David Hood (Absegami) had 84 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown in Temple’s 43-22 win over Tulsa on Saturday. Running back Ryquell Armstead (Millville) had 53 yards on 12 carries with a touchdown.

Women’s soccer

Chestnut Hill junior midfielder Ariel Magee (Lower Cape May Regional) was named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women’s Soccer All-Academic Team on Wednesday. To be eligible for the team, recipients must have participated in a sport, been a student- athlete for at least two semesters and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Men’s basketball

Sa’eed Nelson (St. Augustine Prep) played all 40 minutes and had 26 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in American’s 74-70 win over New Hampshire last Tuesday. He played all 40 again, scoring 21 points with five rebounds and four assists, in a 69-64 win over Virginia Military Institute on Saturday.

Justyn Mutts (St. Augustine) contributed 13 points, six rebounds, two blocks, two assists and a steal in High Point’s 99-63 win over Methodist last Tuesday. He had six points and four rebounds in a 70-67 loss to Charlotte on Friday.

Tyler Jones (Holy Spirit) had six points and six rebounds in Maryland Eastern Shore’s 96-48 loss to St. Bonaventure on Nov. 20. Jones had 13 points, including two key free throws with 11 seconds left, 11 rebounds, two assists and a block in a 66-63 win over Jackson State on Friday. He had 18 points and seven rebounds in a 90-60 loss to Tennessee Tech on Saturday.

Junior Saintel (Holy Spirit) had six points and two rebounds in a 77-64 win over Brown on Wednesday. He had seven points, three rebounds and two assists in an 85-76 loss to Bucknell on Sunday.

Christian Mortellite (Hammonton) had 19 points, 15 rebounds and six assists in an 86-67 win over Holy Family last Tuesday.

Isiah Graves (Atlantic City) contributed seven points and three steals in Goldey-Beacom’s 82-67 loss to Morgan State last Tuesday. He scored three points in a 74-64 win over New Haven on Sunday.

Austin Kennedy (St. Augustine) got three rebounds and two assists in Long Island-Post’s 75-47 win over Georgian Court last Tuesday. He added four points and a rebound in a 91-67 loss to Saint Anselm on Sunday.

Peyton Wejnert (Southern Regional) had 26 points, six rebounds and two blocks in Pace’s 74-64 loss to Saint Rose last Tuesday. He had 16 points and two rebounds in an 87-74 win over Post on Sunday.

Tanner Kerr (Middle Township) had four points and five rebounds in the University of the Sciences’ 66-51 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas last Tuesday. He contributed two points and four rebounds in an 80-57 loss to Indiana (Pennsylvania) on Saturday.

Nate Aldrich (St. Augustine) had seven points, 10 rebounds, a block and a steal in an 86-67 win over Vermont Tech last Tuesday.

Ethan Dubois (Southern) contributed six points, five rebounds and three assists in Elizabethtown’s 82-72 loss to Lebanon Valley last Tuesday.

Luke Stambaugh (Pinelands Regional) had two points, two assists and a steal in Lebanon Valley’s 82-72 win over Elizabethtown last Tuesday. He had two points and a steal in a 101-98 loss to Franklin & Marshall on Sunday.

C.J. Barnes (Holy Spirit) contributed 15 points and four rebounds in Moravian’s 73-67 loss to DeSales last Tuesday.

Walter Harvey (St. Augustine) had 14 points, two steals and an assist in Rowan’s 109-97 win over Neumann on Saturday.

Charlie Riccardi (St. Joseph) had four points and two assists in Rutgers-Camden’s 72-67 loss to The College of New Jersey last Tuesday.

Kenya Brown (Pleasantville) scored two points in Rutgers-Newark’s 68-54 loss to New Jersey City last Tuesday.

Connor Laverty (Ocean City) scored six and had seven rebounds in Widener’s 82-75 win over Scranton last Tuesday.

Mike Greenman (St. Augustine) contributed eight points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals in Williams’ 78-65 win over Yeshiva on Sunday.
