Rutgers-Camden University freshman Amanda Hickman (Millville) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week in women’s tennis.
Hickman went 2-0 in each of a pair of singles and doubles matches and helped the Scarlet Raptors to the program’s first-ever NJAC victory, a 7-2 win at Rutgers-Newark University on Sept. 8.
Stonehill College sophomore Paige Frost (Holy Spirit) opened the season with two victories in a 9-0 win over Franklin Pierce University on Friday. Frost posted a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles against Aubrey Lovejoy and teamed up with Bailey Paradiso to win an 8-0 pro set at first doubles. … The College of New Jersey’s Karisse Bendijo (Egg Harbor Township) won three matches at first singles over the week as the Lions shut out Richard Stockton College, William Paterson University and Ramapo College to clinch the NJAC regular-season title.
Men’s soccer
Rutgers-Newark freshman Matt Broomall (Mainland Regional) earned a shutout with nine saves in an upset 1-0 win over Rutgers-Camden, ranked No. 6 in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America D-III poll. … Rowan University's Michael Fanz-Huster (Hammonton) made nine saves to earn the shutout in a 1-0 win against Stevenson on Saturday. … Tyler Harlan (Egg Harbor Township) played solid defense at center back in Kings College’s 6-0 win over Bible Baptist on Thursday. Ursinus College's Kieran Keyser (Ocean City) recorded nine saves in a 2-1 win over Gettysburg on Saturday.
Keyser leads the Centennial Conference in total saves for the season (38).

Katie Lindacher (Egg Harbor Township), a TCNJ junior, tallied her fifth goal of the season, a team high, as the Lions opened NJAC play with a 3-0 win at Ramapo on Friday. … Gettysburg College sophomore Jill Baltz (Ocean City) posted her first goal of the season in Saturday’s 5-0 win over Ursinus College in a Centennial Conference game. … Junior midfielder Carly DiGiovanni (Ocean City) scored three goals to power Chestnut Hill College to a 5-2 win over Concordia College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game Saturday. ... Penn State Berks freshman Sara Conover (Egg Harbor Township) had four goals and one assist in two wins against Lancaster Bible on Tuesday and Wilson College on Saturday. Conover has eight goals and 18 points this season and leads the Northeast Athletic Conference in both categories.

West Chester University sophomore Kelsey Cheek (Oakcrest) scored her first collegiate goal in a 6-0 win over Seton Hall on Saturday. New Jersey City University sophomore captain Brian Ferrante (Cape May Tech) shot an 82 to tie for 22nd overall and help the Gothic Knights place 14th as a team in the Moravian College Fall Classic, held Thursday at Woodstone Country Club in Danielsville, Pa.
