Four athletes from Atlantic Cape receive academic awards

Four Atlantic Cape Community College student-athletes received National Junior College Athletic Association academic awards Wednesday.

Michael DeCicco (Mainland Regional), a pitcher and shortstop on the baseball team, received the Superior Academic Achievement award. The 20-year-old Northfield resident maintained a 3.85 grade-point average .

Egg Harbor Township graduates and soccer players Sheila Cruz, 20, and Mohamed Elseaedy, 19, both received Exemplary Academic Achievement awards. Cruz, a member of the women's soccer team, maintained a 3.75 GPA, while Elseaedy, a member of the men's soccer team, recorded a 3.75 GPA.

Elseaedy's teammate Aeon Brown, a 23-year old striker of Galloway Township, received the Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence with a 4.0 GPA.
